Roseanne aired on ABC in the United States from 1988 to 1997, and currently airs on cable station TBS in the United States as well as in syndication around the globe.
Glenn Quinn first appeared as Mark Healy, Becky Conner's morotcycle-riding boyfriend in the third season epsiode Becky, Beds and Boys. What began as a guest spot became a recurring role, and finally a full-time member of the cast in the series final two seasons.
Mark Healy was originally introduced as Becky's ne'er-do-well boyfriend, whom she eventually married. When Lecy Goranson left the series in 1992 to attend college, the characters of Mark and Becky Healy were written outonly to return in the sixth episode of the hit series sixth season, when Canadian teen Sarah Chalke was cast in the role of Becky Conner Healy. When Goranson returned to the role in 1996, she and Chalke shared the part.
"[Roseanne] was my big break," Quinn told TV Zone. "It was an amazing time performing in front of a live audience and working with such talented individuals as John Goodman and the rest of the cast. It was a phenomenal training ground and I learnt things that you cannot be taught in any acting class."
