Lon Suder was a mentally unbalanced Betazoid assassin who joined the Voyager crew with the rest of the Maquis after being flung 70,000 light years from the Alpha Quadrant by the Caretaker's array. The telepathic Suder killed fellow crewman Darwin in a murderous rage driven by an unexplicable need to kill. Lt. Tuvok melded with Suder in an attempt to give the troubnled crewman some of his own Vulcan self-discipline, but the meld affected Tuvok, transmitting Suder's sickness to the Vulcan. Suder is sentanced to lfie in the Brig until he can be rehabilitated. When the Kazons and Cardassian spy Seska took over Voyager and stranded the crew on a desloate planet, only Suder and the EMH were left aboard. Suder aided the Doctor in wresting crontrol of the ship from the Kazon, but was killed.
