Mountie series gets its Gemini, again

TORONTO (CP) -- For the third year in a row Due South, CTV's lucky-to-be-alive show about a Canadian Mountie's adventures in Chicago, has been named best dramatic series at the annual Gemini Awards honoring excellence in Canadian TV.

The drama from Alliance Communications has twice been cancelled and twice won last-minute reprieves. CTV says it will be back on TV again this fall.

Due South was also the winner of Chrysler Canada's Choice Award, handed to the show voted a viewer favorite by readers of Canadian TV Guide.
