Angel in Disguise
by Ally McKnight

Ever wonder what people think when, before they can say thanks, Gary just walks away? Well, then here you go. It's a poem in the point of view of someone saved by our own Gary Hobson.

Disclaimers: I don't own the mysterious stranger known as Gary Hobson. I wish I did. He, along with Marissa, and everyone else belongs to CBS and Sony TriStar.

Angel in Disguise
by Ally McKnight

He doesn't make his presence known,
    but he's there.
 The angel in disguise,
   The secret Samaritan.
 There when you fall down,
and there at your darkest hour.

 He helps you stand,
   and helps you believe.
 Faith is his guide,
   love is what he gives.
 When there's nobody to trust,
when the walls are closing in,
my angels in disguise is right with me.

I may never know his name,
   or even why he cares,
    but I do know,
that I have my very own angel in disguise.
Even if he walks away before I can catch his name,
     or give a simple thank-you,
I know he knows I'm grateful.

 And now I know,
there's a real life angel here on earth.
 I don't know his name,
     where he's from,
       or anything about him,
All I know is that I love him,
for what he did for me,
and for the rest of the world.

When it seems like I'm on my last lifeline,
when I feel like throwing in the towel,
my angel in disguise is right by my side.
     Every step of the way,
       every beat of the heart,
  my angel doesn't want fame,
    he wants to help.

I see my angel save more lives,
so he's not just my angel,
     he's the world's shining star,
       it's brightest light.

  But to me,
   he'll always be,
     my angel in disguise.

I put down my pen and sighed. I could still see him in my mind. We were on the rooftop, and he helped me.. he stopped me from making the biggest mistake of my entire life. I could see his face, his big muddy green eyes, reassuring smile, and sweet face. His tall body, quivering, he even told me he was afraid of heights, but he came anyway. His reassuring smile, his wavy
hair, blowing in the gentle wind.

I'll never forget him. When he was done, I turned around to ask him his name, but he was gone. When I looked down I saw him, well, mostly just a bright red scarf flapping in the wind. I wish I could thank him, tell him how good everything has been since he helped.

I signed my name on the bottom, 'Janie Morgan,' and sealed it in the envelope to send to the contest. I wanted the world to know of my angel in disguise. His disguise? A tall, handsome man, with a big heart, and haunted green eyes.

I'll never forget how he helped me. I'll never forget how he stopped me from making the biggest mistake of my life, suicide.
