My Dream Date
by Stephanie
Note: I decided for my newbie challenge to use all of the words, Umbrella, jellybean, flamingo, and violin. This is Gary’s point of view of a date.
The only motive for me to go out with her was because she was in trouble. I knew that my date with Flamingo would be electrifying when I waited for over 2 hours at her apartment because she said she had to stop jumping. After that time-consuming stay, I couldn't believe it when she came downstairs and looked so happy! She said she was beyond doubt ready for a night on the streets of sweet Chicago, so we started the date.
I took her to ceremonial dinner first, and then to Harry's House Of Umbrellas. I didn’t understand why I’d take her there but she seemed to like it. I thought she would enjoy hanging out, but she wasn't having any fun so we left my friends after only 123 minutes. Then she remembered that she had to work in the morning, so I took her home. She is, after all, a Violin Maker.
I'm not sure whether I'll ask her out again. She spent more than an hour talking about pigs. The worse thing about the date was the killer eel that kept dropping down on us. I kept saying 'Look out!' to her and she wouldn’t even listen during dinner.
She kept talking about where jellybeans are grown. That was the first time I had ever heard a woman say that to a waiter before! I think I'll wait and see what my friends thought before I call her for a second date. It just goes to show how wrong the paper really is.
