Ode to Sparky
by Measer

Sparky is a small and happy goldfish.
Swimming in his bowl is his only wish.

He was a happy and content little soul,
Swimming around his round glass bowl.

He had had an ornament in there too.
Swimming around it caused fun to ensue!

He swam to the top and saw more water for his travel.
Sometimes he swam to the bottom and saw colored gravel.

That's what he did day to day,
He is a fish and that is his way.

He ate fish food that came from a yellow can,
Poured into the bowl by his owner, Chuck Fishman.

Then came an extremely frigid January day,
Sparky couldn't swim; there was ice in his way!

Sparky could see his loving owner panic.
He grabbed the bowl and it sloshed around all manic.

"Hang on, Sparky!" He said.  "I know it's scary..."
"Just hang on buddy!  We're going to Gary's..."

On the ride there his bowl sloshed around more.
Sparky panicked, not knowing what was in store.

The finally arrived at the Blackstone Hotel.
Gary was peeved, but Chuck said "Oh well..."

Inside room 1611, after a quick elevator ride.
Sparky was just happy to just be inside.

Chuck put Sparky in the sink once he was settled.
But Gary got mad and began to meddle.

So Chuck put Sparky in a clear, narrow glass.
But Gary still gave him nothing  but sass.

He agreed to put Sparky in another container.
But he accidentally pulled a no-brainer.

With a loud crash Sparky fell to the floor.
His current housing became no more.

Quickly scooping him up, Chuck put him in the toilet bowl.
Saving Sparky's life was Chuck's only goal.

Chuck forgot about Sparky during his massage.
Sparky didn't care; he like his new lodge.

Gary walked into the bathroom and peed in the bowl.
Not noticing Sparky, who swam; it was his only goal.

Gary didn't still notice him there as he quickly rushed.
Reaching for the metal handle he gave the toilet a flush!

Sparky spun round and round down the drain.
Down the pipes and into a big sewer main.

After Gary left, Chuck finally remembered about the fish.
Hoping it was all right was his only wish.

"Sparky....?"
"Sparky..."

Chuck became all upset and manic.
His fish was no more, so he began to panic!

"Spppppppaaaaaaaaarrrrrkkkkkkkyyyyy...!"
"Spppppppaaaaaaaaarrrrrkkkkkkkyyyyy...!!!"

He grabbed a plunger to try and get him back.
Chuck called a local plumber after that.

But all of his attempts were in vain.
Chuck new life without Sparky wouldn't be the same.

Chuck glanced over to the empty fish bowl.
"Rest in peace, Sparky... you gentle little soul..."
