SUMMARY: Jake is sent undercover to infiltrate an elite Special Ops unit in order to find a missing mini nuke.

JAKE 2.0 1X09: WHISKEY - TANGO - FOXTROT

COLD OPEN:

[VARIOUS CLIPS FROM PREVIOUS EPISODES]

LOU: (V.O.) Jake Foley was an ordinary guy until a freak accident transformed him into the world's first computer-enhanced man. Millions of microscopic computers interface with his biochemistry and make him stronger and faster, able to see and hear farther than normal men. They give him the power to control technology with his brain. Jake Foley -- America's secret weapon. He takes on missions no ordinary agent can perform. He is the ultimate human upgrade.

FADE TO BLACK.

FADE IN:

[EXT. VARIOUS WASHINGTON D.C. (STOCK) - DAY]

[INT. GOVERNMENT OFFICE -- DAY]

(JAKE, KYLE and other NSA AGENTS wait as SAL, a disgruntled government employee, holds his office at gunpoint. Several people are on the ground injured, the others cower in terror.)

SAL: Just, um ...get me the undersecretary, okay? You do that, and nobody else gets hurt.

KYLE: That's not going to happen until you start giving me some hostages.

SAL: No, don't play diplomat with me. I've been working in this office for over ten years, and I am tired of being lied to by the government.

CUE SOUND: ENHANCED SIGHT

(JAKE uses his super-seeing ability and can see that just behind SAL is a concealed door in the wall.)

JAKE: There's another door to that office. Looks like it was patched over. If I can get into the office next to it, I can take him out.

KYLE: You're not going to take anyone out. The snipers will be in place in three minutes.

JAKE: We could all be dead in three minutes.

SAL: I'm warning you -- I'm not feeling very patient today.

(SAL cocks his rifle and holds it to one of the hostages.)

SAL: Get me the undersecretary, or somebody's going to lose a life.

JAKE: Kyle!

KYLE: No!

KYLE: Sal, that's not until you start showing some good faith.

(With KYLE distracted, JAKE runs across the office. KYLE turns to look behind him and sees that JAKE is gone.)

KYLE: Okay, you give me what I need ... I'll give you what you need.

SAL: Month after month I bled for this lying, double-dealing government.

(JAKE bursts in through the wall behind SAL.)

CUE SOUND: ENHANCED STRENGTH

(He grabs the gun and pushes SAL over the desk behind him. SAL tumbles backward and falls to the floor.)

AGENT: He did it.

(The NSA AGENTS waiting rush forward. JAKE takes the butt of the rifle and hits SAL across the face with it.)

SHORT TIME CUT TO:

[INT. GOVERNMENT OFFICE -- DAY]

(The paramedics take care of the wounded on gurneys. KYLE walks through the mess and sees SAL being handcuffed and lead away. He also turns and sees JAKE smiling in the office. KYLE'S face turns grim.)

(JAKE makes his way toward KYLE.)

(KYLE sighs.)

JAKE: You're welcome.

KYLE: Did I or did I not give you a specific order?

JAKE: Yeah, but ...

KYLE: You think you're something special because you've got powers?

JAKE: No ...

KYLE: Well, I've got news for you -- you're not. You wait for backup and you follow orders just like everyone else. It's called discipline, and it saves lives.

JAKE: That's all I was trying to do.

KYLE: Oh, yeah? Did you know the wall would break that easy? That his assault rifle didn't have a hair trigger? That he didn't have explosives hidden on his person?

(JAKE looks down. No, he didn't know.)

KYLE: Jake, you've been enhanced. You can do some pretty spectacular things, but that's not what this job is really all about, and if you don't learn that, somebody's going to get hurt.

(KYLE turns and walks away. Properly chastised, JAKE no longer is thrilled with saving the office. He removes the bandage he's been holding on the gash in his arm. He looks down at the wound and it efficiently seals up, completely healed.)

(JAKE sighs.)

CUT TO:

[EXT. FORT MCCLELLAND - DAY]

[INT. FORT MCCLELLAND - HALLWAY / VAULT -- DAY]

(The GUARD anxiously walks GENERAL WESLEY FREEWALD through the hallway.)

GUARD: I didn't go through channels, General. I figured you'd want to know immediately, and I didn't want to waste any time.

GENERAL FREEWALD: You did the right thing. Open the vault.

(The GUARD opens the vault to show mini-nuclear devices on stands. The GUARD and the GENERAL walk inside.)

GUARD: Sir, I have been sole custodian to the Hades 13 tactical mini nukes for six months. Not once on my watch has there been a defeat, a glitch or any discernible violation of security.

GENERAL FREEWALD: Just show me what's wrong

(The GUARD activates one of the mini-nukes.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: What are you doing?

GUARD: Just watch the countdown, sir.

GENERAL FREEWALD: Disengage that explosive.

GUARD: I'm requesting that The General observe the countdown.

GENERAL FREEWALD: And I'm giving you a direct order. Disengage that explosive.

(GENERAL FREEWALD takes out his gun and holds it to the GUARD'S head.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: Now!

(The GUARD doesn't flinch. The mini-nuke counts down to zero, then promptly shuts itself off.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: What just happened?

GUARD: It's a decoy, sir.

(Realizing exactly what the GUARD is saying, the GENERAL puts his gun down.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: Somebody stole one of my nukes?

FADE TO END OF TEASER ROLL TITLE CREDITS

(COMMERCIAL SET)

FADE IN.

[EXT. NSA BUILDING (STOCK) - DAY]

[INT. NSA - SAT OPS TO LOU'S OFFICE-- DAY]

(LOU and KYLE walk back to her office.)

KYLE: Jake and his nanites may be the center of this unit, but he's got a serious discipline problem.

LOU: Are we talking about a phase or something more permanent?

KYLE: Oh, permanent enough if he gets himself or someone else killed. Apparently, there's no "we" in nanite.

LOU: Well, I'm not surprised. A few months of NSA field work is no cure for a childhood full of James Bond movies.

KYLE: Well, I think we better find a cure.

LOU: There's someone you need to meet.

(LOU opens the door to her office and they walk inside.)

[INT. NSA -- LOU'S OFFICE - DAY - CONTINUOUS]

LOU: General Freewald.

(He smiles and they shake hands.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: Tank Buster. It's been awhile.

LOU: I served with The General in the first gulf war.

GENERAL FREEWALD: Your boss was the best helicopter driver in the force. And absolutely lethal with a rocket launcher.

KYLE: Agent Kyle Duarte.

(KYLE holds out his hand to the GENERAL. Instead of taking it, the GENERAL turns to the side and addresses LOU.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: You trust this man?

LOU: Hoo-ah.

(The GENERAL turns back to KYLE and shakes his hand.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: Agent Duarte.

(KYLE glances at LOU and smiles.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: Well, Tank Buster, the day has finally come -- I'm actually glad you traded in your Blackhawk for a desk at the NSA.

LOU: Well, that makes me nervous.

GENERAL FREEWALD: And well it should. Fort McClelland serves as a repository for our arsenal of Hades 13 tactical mini nukes.

LOU: What happened?

GENERAL FREEWALD: Stolen.

KYLE: One of your nukes is missing?

GENERAL FREEWALD: Fort McClelland is 100% secure. Nothing happens there I don't know about. That leaves only one explanation -- One of the members of the Wolf Pack stationed at my base has turned traitor.

LOU: Traitor? In the Wolf Pack?

KYLE: Aren't they the most elite in special ops?

LOU: Well, that's the official story. What they are is a semi-autonomous black ops squad. They do things the U.S. Government really isn't supposed to.

GENERAL FREEWALD: We give them a job, the Wolf Pack gets it done. No questions asked.

KYLE: And a member of this team has a Hades 13. Have you alerted CID?

(The GENERAL looks at KYLE for a long moment, measuring how serious KYLE is by the suggestion. He glances at LOU and chuckles a bit.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: CID is a joke. So is JAG.

(The GENERAL picks up a file from his open briefcase on the table.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: I give them a call, they send me two nitwits in khakis to stumble over every obstacle on the base. This job needs to be done covertly. Any indication that we know the weapon is missing, and our traitor vanishes. I know how they think. I used to be a member of the Wolf Pack. Before I turned sane.

(He gives LOU the file.)

LOU: You want this thing done, you'll have to do it my way. I'll mobilize every asset I have around the world to find this device, but I will need to put someone on the inside.

GENERAL FREEWALD: I'm already with you. The Wolf Pack is expecting a new recruit. I've delayed his arrival. That leaves an opening for your man. There's only one catch. These men operate at the highest standard of strength, endurance and agility. Your agent is going to have to pass muster or he will be made.

(KYLE already knows whom she's thinking about. He looks at her.)

LOU: I believe I've got your man. (She turns to look at KYLE.) You did say he could use some discipline.

CUT TO:

[INT. NSA - RESEARCH LAB - DAY]

(JAKE opens the cabinet, scrounging for food. He opens the canister and raids DIANE'S not-so-hidden stash. DIANE sits in the chair at her computer watching him.)

DIANE: Jake.

JAKE: (absently) Yeah.

(DIANE stands up and walks over to him.)

DIANE: (louder) Jake.

JAKE: Hmm?

DIANE: No.

(DIANE confiscates the candies from JAKE.)

DIANE: The body is a temple -- even a nanite-enhanced one.

(JAKE covers the canister and closes the cabinet. DIANE sits back on her computer, putting the candies on the desk.)

JAKE: Can I ask you something?

DIANE: Yeah.

JAKE: Am I acting like I'm too good to follow orders like everyone else?

(DIANE doesn't say anything. He takes it as confirmation.)

JAKE: (horrified) It's true? I'm becoming THAT guy?

DIANE: No, but ... I'm still glad that Kyle read you the riot act.

JAKE: Why, because you like to see me humiliated?

DIANE: (sighs) Because I'd like to see you alive, Jake.

JAKE: You know, I bet he told Lou ...

(JAKE uses his left index finger and pushes his left eyebrow up in a poor imitation of KYLE.)

JAKE: (fake 'KYLE' voice) "Jake's grandstanding."

(JAKE uses his right index finger and pushes his right eyebrow up.)

JAKE: (fake KYLE voice) "Jake's chewing gum.

(Unknown to JAKE, behind him, KYLE walks into the room. JAKE continues to use his left index finger to push his left eyebrow up in a p-poor imitation of KYLE.)

JAKE: (fake KYLE voice) "Jake ...

LOU: (interrupts) ... Has a new mission.

(LOU drops the file on the desk.)

LOU: Get up to speed.

(She turns and leaves the room. KYLE follows her out.)

(JAKE picks up the file folder and opens it. Although she's just dying to laugh or to say something, DIANE is remaining very quiet indeed.)

CUT TO:

[INT. NSA - LOU'S OFFICE -- DAY]

(JAKE is in LOU'S office after reading through the assignment.)

JAKE: So you want me to join the Wolf Pack. Great mission. Really. There's just one small thing, and it's not that I think I'm special or anything, it's just that, well ... Uh ... I don't really do well with teams or packs. Especially in uniform. Jocks, frat guys, marching bands.

(LOU sits on her desk.)

JAKE: They eat people like me for breakfast.

LOU: Are you done? You're going to learn to become a soldier. I have someone standing by to train you.

JAKE: Yeah? Who's the Yoda-like miracle worker that's going to make that happen?

(LOU smiles.)

CUT TO:

[INT. NSA - PRACTICE ROOM -- DAY]

(JAKE is blind-folded and attacking a dummy with a knife.)

(After a series of knife wounds to the dummy, JAKE pulls off his blind-fold, satisfied with his performance.)

JAKE: Well, Timmy's not going to be playing the violin any time soon.

LOU: That is the most pathetic field kill I have ever seen.

(JAKE glances from LOU to the dummy, then back to LOU, surprised that he's getting yelled at.)

LOU: (continues) You will never leave your weapon in, on, or around the enemy. Do we understand each other?!

JAKE: (looks down) Yes, ma'am.

LOU: For the last time, Jake, the correct answer is 'hoo-ah'. 'Hoo-ah' means 'yes', 'thank you', 'please', 'pass the ammo', 'praise the Lord'. Do you understand? When in doubt -- hoo-ah!

JAKE: (loudly) Hoo-ah!

LOU: You don't have to yell it all the time, okay?

(JAKE tosses the blindfold to the floor. LOU walks past him to pick up the sparring gloves.)

LOU: Now if anybody asks you about your past missions, or people you've served with, you go no further than 'hoo-ah'. These men aren't going to trust you until they've tested you, Jake. And even then you're not going to sit around talking about your feelings.

(JAKE starts to punch the gloves.)

JAKE: And don't worry -- I'm not going to open up to these psychopaths.

(LOU takes a swing at JAKE.)

LOU: They're not psychopaths, Jake. These men are highly competent, connected and skilled soldiers.

(She swings again.)

LOU: They don't have to salute. They don't have to wear their hair or uniforms regulation. And they don't have a problem operating in a morally gray area.

JAKE: So how come you never joined the Wolf Pack?

LOU: They don't take women. The NSA does. So are you ready to do this?

JAKE: Sure. I mean, hoo-ah.

(LOU puts her fists up.)

LOU: Hit me.

JAKE: (surprised) What?

LOU: Hit me!

(JAKE takes a swing at LOU. She easily and smoothly grabs his arm and flips him over onto the floor.)

LOU: Hope you don't have any plans for tonight.

(JAKE groans.)

CUT TO:

[EXT. VARIOUS WASHINGTON D.C. (STOCK) - DAY]

[EXT. FORT MCCLELLAND ARMY BASE -- DAY]

(The sign reads: FORT MCCLELLAND ARMY BASE "DEFENDING THE LINE" )

[EXT. FORT MCCLELLAND ARMY BASE -- DAY]

(In his army gear, JAKE walks up the front driveway. He looks around and sees the soldiers training. The leader on the side holds a clipboard and yells instructions to the soldiers training.)

SOLDIER C.O.: Let's go, soldier, move it, move it, move it. Let's pick up the pace. We've got some time to keep here. Come on, soldier, you're moving like pond water! Move it! Move it!

(JAKE walks up to the LEADER and introduces himself.)

JAKE: Sergeant first class Mitchell Gant, Wolf Pack.

(As soon as he makes his introduction, the activity on the side stop. The soldiers stand and stare at him. He digs into his pockets, searching for his papers.)

JAKE: Do you need to see my papers, or ... ?

SOLDIER C.O.: Uh, sergeant, we're not the wolf ...

OFF-SCREEN: Hoo-ah!

(He turns and nods in their direction.)

SOLDIER C.O.: ... they are.

(JAKE watches as a band of soldiers unlike any he's seen before saunter toward him. They're out of uniform and armed to the hilt. Their LEADER has a lit cigarette in his mouth and every single member has an identical scar on their inner right arm in the silhouette of a Wolf.)

SOLDIER C.O.: Company, clear the square!

(HARTMAN walks up to JAKE.)

HARTMAN: Hey, man. How ya doing?

JAKE: Captain Hartman?

HARTMAN: Yeah, yeah, yeah, at ease. You must be Gant. Nice knowing you. Got some papers for me?

JAKE: Uh, yes, sir.

HARTMAN: Cool.

(JAKE looks down to get his papers for HARTMAN. HARTMAN puts his cigar in his mouth, then hits JAKE in the stomach.)

(In the background, GENERAL FREEWALD watches.)

HARTMAN: Why in the name of hell are you giving me up as your commanding officer? You ever salute me in the open again and I will exsanguinate you, understood?

JAKE: Yes, sir.

HARTMAN: Don't you "sir" me. You want me dead? Is that what you want, huh? Get up and answer me.

(JAKE gets to his feet.)

HARTMAN: The pack is your mother, and the pack is your father, kid. From now on, everything that you need you will get from us. That is, of course, if you can manage to cut it here for more than 30 seconds. Think you can do that? Think you got what it takes?

JAKE: Hoo-ah.

HARTMAN: Drills are up. Move out!

(The WOLF PACK walks past JAKE. The last member of the pack, LAWRENCE, pauses for a moment in front of JAKE.)

LAWRENCE: (amused) Welcome to hell.

CUT TO:

[INT. NSA - SAT OPS -- DAY]

(LOU instructs the office.)

LOU: I want every dealer and informant in the world arms market tracked down and interrogated. If Hades 13 is in play, I want to know who, where and how. You are also to put all of our field agents monitoring the sale of nuclear equipment on high alert. If anyone buys a radiac meter anywhere in the world, I want someone with NSA creds standing by to ask why. Understood?

AGENTS: (nodding) Yes, ma'am.

LOU: Good. You know the drill. In god we trust, all others we monitor.

(The team is dismissed. LOU walks over to KYLE.)

LOU: I have a special mission for you.

CUT TO:

[EXT. FORT MCCLELLAND ARMY BASE -- DAY]

(The WOLF PACK is running in the forest.)

HARTMAN: Let's go! Keep up! Move your ass! Move it! Move it!

CUE SOUND: ENHANCED ABILITY

(With his weight on his back, JAKE runs past the pack members up to the front of the pack and takes the lead from LAWRENCE. LAWRENCE seems surprised, then amused to see JAKE.)

LAWRENCE: Hoo-ah.

(HARTMAN watches, smiles and shakes his head.)

CUT TO:

[THE WALL]

(It's raining and the PACK is now at the wall.)

HARTMAN: Get him over that wall.

(JAKE helps the first soldier up over the wall. HARTMAN watches, a bit surprised by JAKE'S strength. Then, JAKE takes a step back and without any assistance except from his nanites, he easily jumps high enough to grab the wall himself.)

(HARTMAN watches as JAKE jumps down on the other side. He looks at the two soldiers, then walks over to the next obstacle.)

(LAWRENCE turns and glances at HARTMAN. Their eyes meet. HARTMAN sniffs.)

CUT TO:

[PUSH UPS]

(Each member of The WOLF PACK is doing push ups with their full gear on their backs. Camera moves down the line from member to member as they all do push-ups together at the same pace.)

ALL: Sixty-two! (beat) Sixty-three! (beat) Sixty-four! (beat) Sixty-five! (beat) Sixty-six!

(JAKE picks up the pace and the difficulty.)

JAKE: Sixty-seven (clap) sixty-eight (clap) sixty-nine (clap) seventy (clap)

(Everyone turns and looks at JAKE.)

JAKE: ... seventy-one (clap) seventy-two (clap) seventy-three (clap) seventy- four ...

CUT TO:

[EXT. FORT MCCLELLAND ARMY BASE - FOREST -- NIGHT]

(JAKE is in the forest in the middle of the night talking with DIANE.)

JAKE: (to phone) Well, I guess you could describe it as summer camp... in hell. Ten- mile runs ... I've never been this tired in my entire life. Hey, the nanites aren't going to burn out or anything, are they?

INTERCUT WITH:

[INT. NSA - RESEARCH LAB - NIGHT]

DIANE: (chuckles a bit) No. No, they're-they're doing fine.

JAKE: Oh, good.

DIANE: What about you? Are you scared?

JAKE: I don't know what I am. These guys are crazy, but ... I think they may be starting to respect me.

(He glances down at his watch and realizes the time.)

JAKE: Oh, crap. I'm late, I got to get back to the barracks.

(JAKE hangs up and starts running back to the barracks. DIANE also hangs up.)

DIANE: Bye --

(JAKE runs out of the forest into the clearing. He stops when he hears someone call his name.)

LAWRENCE: Gant!

(The WOLF PACK comes out of the trees.)

LAWRENCE: That's some fine work out there today, my friend.

STERN: You're the man, Gant. Sierra Hotel, all the way.

(He offers his hand and they shake.)

JAKE: Hey. Thanks.

HALL: USDA choice, hard ass.

BURNS: You're going to do us proud.

(They knock fists.)

JAKE: Thanks, man.

HARTMAN: You impressed every man in this unit.

JAKE: (relieved) Thank you.

(They shake hands.)

HARTMAN: You're welcome. Good night.

(HARTMAN turns and steps away.)

JAKE: (playing along) Good night.

(Behind him, HALL knocks JAKE out. JAKE falls to the ground unconscious.)

FADE OUT

(COMMERCIAL SET)

FADE IN.

[EXT. ROADWAY -- DAY]

(An army vehicle travels along the road. Inside, GENERAL FREEWALD reviews a file. As they approach the main gate to the Fort, he sees something.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: Stop the car.

(The driver stops the car. The GENERAL steps out of the car and looks at JAKE naked, tied and perched up in the tree branches.)

(The GENERAL sighs.)

(JAKE looks down and sees the GENERAL.)

CUT TO:

[EXT. FORT MCCLELLAND ARMY BASE - FREEWALD'S OFFICE -- DAY]

(The GENERAL leads JAKE to his office. JAKE holds a blanket wrapped around him.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: You're lucky you weren't on an actual mission, Agent Foley. If the Wolf Pack thought you were slowing them down in battle, they'd just pop a slug in your kneecap.

JAKE: Well, I guess lucky in your world mean being tortured all night by a bunch of jingoistic mesomorphs. (beat) Sir.

GENERAL FREEWALD: I trust Louise Beckett with my life. I hope that trust "hasn't been misplaced.

JAKE: You and me both.

(They walk into his office. The GENERAL stands behind his desk as JAKE closes the door behind him.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: Louise Beckett is not someone you let down without serious consequence. You know how she got the name Tank Buster?

JAKE: Let me guess-- she blew up a bunch of tanks in the gulf.

GENERAL FREEWALD: Tank was a man. Piloted a Black Hawk in your boss' outfit and had no end of crap to give her about being black, being female, being attractive. You name it, he had a slur. And Beckett put up with everything, until tank bugged out on a hostile encounter a little faster than he should have. Left Beckett all alone to weather the fire storm. But one night, tank went to the CO, begged to be taken off the flight rotation, confessed he acted in a cowardly fashion and spent the rest of the war behind a desk. And he never said a mean thing about anybody ever again.

JAKE: (laughs) What'd she do to him?

GENERAL FREEWALD: Nobody knows. That's why I'm warning you. Don't give Louise Beckett a reason to dislike you.

(Someone knocks on the door.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: Someone here to see you.

(The GENERAL opens the door. KYLE, dressed in a uniform, walks into the office and looks at JAKE dressed in the blanket.)

JAKE: So, you're undercover, too.

(JAKE sheepishly waves at KYLE.)

SHORT TIME CUT TO:

[EXT. FORT MCCLELLAND ARMY BASE - FREEWALD'S OFFICE -- DAY]

(JAKE is now dressed as KYLE fills JAKE in on the latest information. KYLE takes a seat behind the desk.)

KYLE: None of our intelligence assets can place Hades 13 in the arms market. Our informants in the terrorist underground have nothing, so the most plausible scenario right now ...

JAKE: Is that the weapon's still on the base.

KYLE: You have to find it.

JAKE: How?

KYLE: The Wolf Pack carry field laptops. Traitor may have used his to uplink with someone about the bomb. Now, you have to go through the Wolf Pack's duffel, interface with their gear and copy down their communications logs.

JAKE: Okay, am I going to do that before or after the monkeys fly out of my butt? Kyle ... don't send me back in with those guys.

KYLE: If the Hades 13 in detonated, a lot of people are going to die. Jake, there are no half measures on this one. You have to find the discipline and commitment to take this all the way.

JAKE: Is that an order?

KYLE: Yes.

(JAKE takes a moment and thinks about it.)

JAKE: All right.

(JAKE gets to his feet.)

JAKE: I need some nerve gas and a funnel.

CUT TO:

[EXT. FORT MCCLELLAND ARMY BASE - FOREST-- DAY]

(The WOLF PACK is running in the forest.)

LAWRENCE: I don't know, but I've been told ...
ALL: (echoing) I don't know, but I've been told...

LAWRENCE: Wolf pack men don't sing no songs!
ALL: Wolf pack men don't sing no songs!

(JAKE is standing in their path waiting for them. HARTMAN sees JAKE.)

HARTMAN: Oh, the little crap hound!

LAWRENCE: Wolf pack men is where it hurts! ALL: (echoing) Wolf pack men is where it hurts!

LAWRENCE: Shut your hole and ...

(LAWRENCE leads the pack and runs past JAKE. As soon as HARTMAN gets close enough to pass JAKE, JAKE punches him. HARTMAN turns and lands against the wooden fence.)

JAKE: (disgusted) That the worst your little sorority bitches could come up with? What kind of mongolian goat manure in your skull made you think I'd follow a woman like you into battle, huh?

(JAKE grabs HARTMAN, but he's ready for JAKE. He puts JAKE in a strangle hold

HARTMAN: Get my eat tool.

(LAWRENCE reaches into HARTMAN'S backpack and takes out his shovel.)

CUT TO:

[EXT. FORT MCCLELLAND ARMY BASE - FRONT YARD -- NIGHT]

(JAKE is digging holes with the shovel. From what we see, he's on his fourth hole. HARTMAN walks by, smoking his cigarette. JAKE stops and looks at HARTMAN.)

HARTMAN: Who in the name of sweet god almighty put all these holes around my barracks? Someone could trip and fall into one of these. That's just plain unacceptable.

(He leans in close.)

HARTMAN: Listen to me, you little ass clown. You listen to me good. I want each and every one of these holes off my base by sun up, or you will suffer the kind of pain you only ever hear tell of. Hoo-ah.

JAKE: (echoes) Hoo-ah.

HARTMAN: Lights out in five minutes!

(HARTMAN enters the barracks. JAKE watches him close the door behind him, then he looks at the shovel and smiles. JAKE stabs the shovel into the dirt.)

CUT TO:

[EXT. FORT MCCLELLAND ARMY BASE - WOLF PACK BARRACKS -- NIGHT]

(JAKE has every single one of the WOLF PACK'S laptops up and downloading information. KYLE stands above JAKE holding another laptop and watching JAKE. JAKE looks up at KYLE sensing that he's got something to say.)

JAKE: What?

(KYLE glances to the side, then back at JAKE.)

KYLE: Nothing. You clocked your CO, and instead of beating the snot out of you, he made you dig holes?

JAKE: (dryly) Yeah. It's supposed to impress upon me the fact that I'm so retarded, I don't even merit army-grade punishment. As you can see, the shame is unbearable.

KYLE: Yeah. Well, that's the last of them. I'll upload the data to Lou from the main complex.

(KYLE puts the laptop down and looks at all the members of the WOLF PACK knocked out from the nerve gas.)

JAKE: Mm-hmm.

KYLE: This was clever, Jake. But that nerve gas is going to wear off real soon. There's still a traitor in this unit, and these laptops may not be enough to snuff him out.

JAKE: Well, being clever had nothing to do with it. This is just Phase One.

KYLE: You sure you know what you're doing?

JAKE: Kyle, now is not the time to second-guess me. You asked me to become one of these men, that's what I'm doing.

(JAKE finishes and walks over to HARTMAN who is out cold on the bathroom floor.)

KYLE: What exactly do you have in mind?

(JAKE looks up at KYLE and smiles.)

JAKE: That's on a need-to-know basis.

KYLE: Six hours ago, you were telling me not to send you back here. Now you're General Patton?

JAKE: You gave me a specific order to take this all the way. I'm taking it all the way.

DISSOLVE TO:

[EXT. FORT MCCLELLAND ARMY BASE - MAIN ENTRANCE ROAD -- DAY]

(Camera moves slowly across the road. In the distance, GENERAL FREEWALD'S vehicle approaches the main gate. Inside the vehicle, the GENERAL reviews a file. He looks up and orders his driver to stop.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: Sergeant, stop the vehicle.

(The vehicle stops and the GENERAL looks out the window.)

(HARTMAN wakes up and sniffs.)

(The GENERAL gets out of his vehicle and stands in front of them looking down at them. He starts chuckling at the sight. All five members of the WOLF PACK - all five except JAKE - are buried up to their necks in the dirt.)

CUT TO:

[EXT. FORT MCCLELLAND ARMY BASE - GATE ENTRANCE -- DAY]

(The GENERAL'S vehicle drives through the gate. Behind it, five dirty WOLF PACK members walk through the gate.)

(The GENERAL looks out the window as he passes JAKE, in full gear waiting for the WOLF PACK to return. JAKE steps up to them.)

JAKE: No five-mile run today, gentlemen?

(HARTMAN and the group walk up to JAKE.)

HARTMAN: Gant ...

(HARTMAN looks down at JAKE'S clothes and stares him in the eyes.)

HARTMAN: ... you magnificent bastard!

(HARTMAN throws back his head and laughs. In fact, the entire WOLF PACK cheers JAKE on.)

LAWRENCE: You see what you pulled off? How the hell did you do that?

HARTMAN: Let the man have his sec he's got the huevos to pull that, god only knows what he'll do in the field!

LAWRENCE: Looks like we found ourselves a tactical mastermind!

ALL: Hoo-ah!

HARTMAN: You took your beating like a man, and you gave as good as you got.

LAWRENCE: Hey, everyone gets tested, Gant. No exceptions. Nothing personal, huh? Nothing personal.

HARTMAN: What do you say, Lawrence? What do you say? You think it's time we give young Mitchell here an initiation?

WOLF PACK: Oh, yeah!
WOLF PACK: Yeah?
WOLF PACK: Initiation? Initiation?
WOLF PACK: Initiation!
WOLF PACK: Hang 'em up! Hang 'em up

DISSOLVE TO:

[INT. STRIP BAR - DAY]

(The WOLF PACK carries JAKE toward the stage in the strip bar.)

WOLF PACK: Initiation! Initiation!
WOLF PACK: Initiation! Initiation

(They hold him face-up as the stripper grabs two bottle of hard liquor and mixes the drink in his open mouth.

EROTIC DANCER: Down the hatch.

(JAKE swallows, sits up and hollers. The rest of the pack holler, too.)

HARTMAN: Hey, hey! Can't you knobs take a direct order? I said shaken, not stirred!

(They laugh and shout loudly. They set JAKE back on his feet.)

HARTMAN: Hey, now that we know each other so well, how about we make this cub part of the pack?

ALL: Hoo-ah!

LAWRENCE: The real initiation, Gant.

WOLF PACK: Come on, get this off! Let's go!

(They remove JAKE'S jacket.)

LAWRENCE: Ho!

(The members of the pack hold JAKE'S arm flat on the table, inner arm up. JAKE watches as HARTMAN steps forward, a knife in his hand.)

(JAKE watches as HARTMAN starts to "brand" JAKE, slowly carving the silhouette of a wolf on his arm to match the others.)

WOLF PACK: Oh, yeah!
WOLF PACK: Come on, Gant!

(The pack watches and shouts their encouragement.)

WOLF PACK: Carve it in!
WOLF PACK: Don't pass out!
WOLF PACK: Carve it up! Open your eyes, Gant!

(JAKE'S eyes remain open as HARTMAN continues the slow process of branding him one of the WOLF PACK.)

WOLF PACK: Take it, Gant. Take it!
WOLF PACK: Look at it! Don't close your eyes!
WOLF PACK: Take the pain! Take it!
WOLF PACK: Take it like a man!
WOLF PACK: Look at him bleed!
WOLF PACK: Come on!

(When he's done, HARTMAN steps back. On JAKE'S arm is the same carved pattern as the others. He's now one of them.)

(HARTMAN grabs the bottle of alcohol on the table and empties it on JAKE'S arm. The PACK shouts and hollers.)

HARTMAN: Right! Arms in!

(Everyone proudly rolls up their sleeves and shows their own wolf-shaped scar, arm over arm. And at the top is JAKE'S brand new scar. He breaks the pack.)

ALL: Hoo-ah!

CUT TO:

[INT. NSA - SAT OPS -- DAY]

(LOU is on the SAT phone with KYLE who is at the bar watching JAKE.)

LOU: We ran through crypto and data analysis on those logs you sent us. I think we might've found our traitor. We know that a member of the Wolf Pack leased a jet. It's waiting for him somewhere in the Florida Keys. We don't know where yet. He also bought equipment to handle nuclear material. Now our guess is he's moving Hades 13 out of the country.

KYLE Well, is he selling the bomb, taking it to a buyer?

LOU: We don't know yet. Make the arrest. Take the soldier straight to General Freewald. Interrogate him and get those answers.

LOU: How's Jake?

(KYLE glances worriedly down at JAKE and the WOLF PACK on the floor below.)

WOLF PACK: Easy!

KYLE: (to LOU) I'm not sure.

LOU: What do you mean?

KYLE: He's one of them now. We need to get him out of this as soon as possible.

LOU: Oh, he'll get out. As soon as I have the traitor and the bomb.

KYLE: Right.

(KYLE hangs up.)

(Down below, a waitress brings a tray of shots to the table.)

HARTMAN: Oh, yeah.

(She sets the tray in front of them. HARTMAN and the others each take a shot.)

HARTMAN: So ... now that Gant's been branded, I'd like to propose a toast. To absent friends.

WOLF PACK: To absent friends.

JAKE: Aubrey?

LAWRENCE: Hey, Gant ... we don't mention that name around here.

HARTMAN: No, Lawrence. Gant might as well know why he's here.

(HARTMAN takes out a picture and shows it to JAKE.)

HARTMAN: The pack was asked to deal with an afghan warlord in the Chaiko Valley. This puke had some bio-weapons, left behind by the Soviets. It was simple -- snatch and grab the bio-weapon. Next thing you know, we're in a hard firefight through the local village. Aubrey took some shrapnel. General Freewald sends orders not to jeopardize the bio-weapon. (through gritted teeth) To forget ... Aubrey and get out of there. Two days later, al-Jazeera shows a video of Aubrey being torn limb from limb in the streets. One of the Wolf Pack. We let him die. So ... a toast...

(HARTMAN reaches forward and picks up his shot.)

HARTMAN: Sergeant Ken Aubrey, General Wesley Freewald.

LAWRENCE: Oh, forget that, man.

WOLF PACK: No, no.

HARTMAN: Let's give acknowledgment to the man who made us dishonor ourselves and our brother. May he meet with all the advancement and commendation that he deserves ... in hell.

WOLF PACK: Hoo-ah. WOLF PACK: Hoo-ah.

(Everyone drinks and puts their empty shot glass down loudly on the table. There's a patch of silence and everyone drinks in peace.)

(LAWRENCE gets up from the table to go to the restroom. Above them, KYLE sees him leave.)

(KYLE stands up from his table.)

CUT TO:

[INT. STRIP BAR - BATHROOM -- DAY]

(LAWRENCE finishes his business when KYLE walks into the bathroom. KYLE holds his gun against he back of LAWRENCE'S neck.)

(LAWRENCE turns around and knocks the gun away and moves to hit KYLE. KYLE blocks the punch and lands one across LAWRENCE'S face. LAWRENCE breaks his fall against the wall. He turns around to hit KYLE, but KYLE'S ready for him and punches him in the stomach.)

(KYLE twists LAWRENCE'S arm up behind his back and runs him face forward flat against the wall.)

(LAWRENCE grunts.)

LAWRENCE: Hey, hey, I didn't know she was married, I swear.

KYLE: Shut up and keep your hands behind your back. We're going to walk out the back door real quiet, and you're going to tell General Freewald who you're working for and where you hid the Hades 13. We understand each other?

LAWRENCE: Well, you got to be on the pipe if you think I'm going to do that.

KYLE: Oh, okay.

(KYLE puts his hand up against LAWRENCE'S head and presses it against the wall. LAWRENCE groans in pain as KYLE handcuffs him.)

KYLE: Well, let's see what the Wolf Pack does to you when they find out that you're a traitor.

LAWRENCE: Take me to the General.

KYLE: That's what I thought.

(KYLE grabs LAWRENCE and pushes him out the door.)

CUT TO:

[EXT. FREEWALD'S OFFICE - NIGHT]

[INT. FREEWALD'S OFFICE -- NIGHT]

(GENERAL FREEWALD takes out a gun.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: You acquitted yourself quite well, Agent Duarte, but this is an internal matter now. A question of honor. This man and I need to settle our affairs in private.

KYLE: With all due respect, General, you called the NSA, and I'm not about to leave you alone with a member of an elite assassination unit.

GENERAL FREEWALD: A unit I used to head, Agent Duarte. But have it your way. Just remember what happens in Fort McClellan stays in Fort McClellan. Are we clear on that?

KYLE: As a bell.

(GENERAL turns to LAWRENCE.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: Good. You know, in antiquity, when a field commander found a traitor in his midst, he had the authority to shoot the lying sack of crap on site.

(The GENERAL looks down at his gun.)

LAWRENCE: Well, you gave the Wolf Pack the order to leave Ken Aubrey in Afghanistan. Does that mean I can shoot you on site ... sir?

GENERAL FREEWALD: I did what was necessary. You were carrying a lethal bio-weapon. It's safe return was top priority. That was the mission.

LAWRENCE: Our man was top priority. Aubrey was still alive.

GENERAL FREEWALD: And you would've killed every man, woman and child in that village to him back. Aubrey did his duty.

LAWRENCE: What the hell do you know about duty? You were one of us. The wolf pack never left a man behind until you gave that order.

(The GENERAL rests the tip of his gun barrel against LAWRENCE'S chest.)

GENERAL FREEWALD: All right. You have something that belongs to me. Now, the way I see it, you have two choices -- hand it over or die.

(He cocks the gun.)

LAWRENCE: Fine. The Hades 13 is ...

(LAWRENCE knocks his head hard against The GENERAL'S. KYLE pulls out his gun. LAWRENCE kicks it out of his hand, then kicks KYLE in the chest. KYLE falls backward to the floor.)

(LAWRENCE jumps over his wrists, bringing his cuffs to the front. He reaches down and picks up KYLE'S gun.)

(By the time KYLE gets to his feet, LAWRENCE has the gun on KYLE. KYLE'S hands are raised.)

LAWRENCE: All right ... the keys to the cuffs. (beat) Please.

(KYLE stares at LAWRENCE.)

[EXT. - NIGHT]

(The flash of Two gun shots ring out in the night.)

FADE OUT

(COMMERCIAL SET)

FADE IN.

[EXT. VEHICLE (MOVING) -- NIGHT]

MEN: Hoo-ah!

[INT. VEHICLE (MOVING) - NIGHT]

(HARTMAN drives the vehicle back to the barracks. JAKE sits in the front seat listening to HARTMAN'S story.)

HARTMAN: It was a hairy fur ball that night. Bodies flailing everywhere. Didn't know which way was up. Couldn't fight your way out. All we could do was give in. And give in, we did.

JAKE: Unbelievable.

HARTMAN: Son ... you never visited a Panamanian whorehouse?

JAKE: I can neither confirm nor deny that I have ever been to Panama.

(HARTMAN bursts out laughing. The men in the back of the car enthusiastically give their response to JAKE'S reply.)

ALL: Hoo-ah!

(As they drive, KYLE tumbles out onto the roadway, his hands cuffed behind his back.)

HARTMAN: Heads up!

(The car brakes.)

(KYLE looks up at the headlights. The men in the vehicle step outside.)

HARTMAN: Can I help you, officer?

(LAWRENCE steps out.)

LAWRENCE: He's not an officer. His name is Agent Duarte, and he's a spook for the NSA.

(Two of the WOLF PACK help KYLE to his knees.)

HARTMAN: I take it this man has knowledge of our operation.

LAWRENCE: Yeah, Freewald called him in to find out who took the Hades 13.

KYLE: (realizing) You're all in on it ... aren't you?

(LAWRENCE kicks KYLE in the stomach.)

JAKE: What's he talking about?

HARTMAN: Quiet, Gant. What about the General?

LAWRENCE: Well, my guess is they won't find his body till dawn.

(HARTMAN cocks his head at LAWRENCE knowing exactly what he means.)

LAWRENCE: Agent Duarte apprehended me in the club. I decided to turn the situation to our advantage, find out how much he and the General knew. Oh, and frankly, not sorry about Freewald.

HARTMAN: Understood. All right, mount up. We're pushing our timetable. Hall, Burns, Stern -- you're on weapons detail. I want the entire pack ready to bug out in 20. We move the Hades 13 out of the country tonight.

(They pick up KYLE and head him to the truck.)

WOLF PACK: Get up!

(LAWRENCE steps up close to HARTMAN.)

HARTMAN: Just make sure this piece of garbage tells us everything he knows.

(LAWRENCE holds up the gun, then turns to get into the vehicle. He passes JAKE along the way.)

(JAKE turns to follow them.)

CUT TO:

[INT. BARRACKS -- NIGHT]

(LAWRENCE hits KYLE. KYLE falls to the bathroom floor at HARTMAN'S feet.)

(In the other room, JAKE watches.)

LAWRENCE: (yells) Now, who else knows?!

(JAKE takes a couple of steps toward the bathroom.)

KYLE: I told you. I report to Freewald. I'm working alone.

(The other members of the WOLF PACK carry their weapons and step up behind JAKE.)

LAWRENCE: I don't believe him.

HARTMAN: (to LAWRENCE) I concur.

(HARTMAN pulls his gun on JAKE.)

HARTMAN: What do you have to say for yourself, Gant?

(JAKE stares down the barrel of the gun. The other members of the WOLF PACK behind JAKE also pull their weapons. JAKE doesn't flinch.)

JAKE: You are the first leader of a Wolf Pack to leave a man behind.

HARTMAN: (growls) Aw ...

(HARTMAN cocks his gun.)

JAKE: (continues) You followed a bad order and you know it, but I didn't judge you when I volunteered to serve under your command. Now, one of your officers has murdered a General. An agent of our government is bleeding on this floor, beaten by your hand, not by any standard of human and military decency. I should put a bullet in your skull no matter what the consequence, but instead I am standing here NOT JUDGING! So if you want to be responsible for the death of another one of your brothers, have the courage of your convictions and pull that trigger, otherwise I respectfully suggest you judge me by my deeds, sir.

(LAWRENCE looks from JAKE to HARTMAN.)

(HARTMAN stares at JAKE. After a moment, he lowers his weapon and hands it handle first to JAKE.)

HARTMAN: All right, have it your way, Gant.

(JAKE takes the gun.)

HARTMAN: You kill the man.

(JAKE looks at the gun and steps forward. KYLE bleeds on the floor, his eyes focused on JAKE.)

(JAKE aims and pulls the trigger.)

(KYLE flips over on his back, the bullet in his side. JAKE tucks the gun in his back as he steps forward toward KYLE.)

LAWRENCE: (protesting) Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! You got to finish him off.

(JAKE kneels in front of the sink and grabs KYLE'S wrists.)

JAKE: Shut up and give me the cuffs now. Now!

(LAWRENCE glances over at HARTMAN who stares at JAKE. He hands the cuffs to JAKE.)

LAWRENCE: What are you doing?

(JAKE cuffs KYLE'S wrists to the sink.)

JAKE: Tape!

(HALL tosses JAKE a roll of tape.)

JAKE: This man deserves a slow ... and painful death.

(JAKE tapes up KYLE'S mouth.)

JAKE: You think he merits a soldier's death, you give it to him yourself.

HARTMAN: Gear up! Moving out!

ALL: Hoo-ah!

(They all walk out of the bathroom. At the last moment, JAKE turns and looks back at KYLE.)

(He sees KYLE'S phone and concentrates.)

CUE SOUND: INTERFACING

(Camera zooms in through the wiring in the cell phone.)

CUT TO:

[INT. NSA - SAT OPS -- NIGHT]

(CARVER turns from her monitor and glances back at the wall monitor. It reads: FREEWALD MURDERED. She gets up off her seat and heads for LOU, whom we can hear talking in the background.)

LOU: (b.g.) If the Wolf Packs can sneak that weapon out to the Florida Keys, I want an ambush waiting with all the fire power we can muster. So you find me that damn airstrip.

(The AGENT LOU is talking to leaves. CARVER gets her attention.)

CARVER: Director Beckett, it's coming from Agent Duarte's field phone.

(LOU steps forward and reads the message on the monitor: FREEWALD MURDERED. The second message flashes on screen: KYLE SHOT.)

LOU: Get a fix on Kyle's location. Find Jake.

(The next message reads: HADES-13 MOVING.)

LOU: We need to get into that base. Scramble covert team, have a chopper meet me at the helipad, and tell them to stow an extra set of body armor.

(LOU turns and heads for the door.)

CARVER: I'm sorry, Director, are you ... ?

LOU: I'm handling this myself.

(CARVER turns to head back to her workstation.)

CUT TO:

[EXT. FORT MCCLELLAND ARMY BASE - FOREST -- NIGHT]

(The WOLF PACK works to get the nuke. JAKE stands on the side watching them.)

(HARTMAN walks up to JAKE.)

HARTMAN: Gant. This team's been operating under a cloud of shame for too long. You want the opportunity to be part of the Wolf Packs' redemption?

JAKE: I consider it an honor.

(HARTMAN turns to the team. They lift up the suitcase from the hole in the ground and put it on the surface. They open the case. The mini-nuke is inside.)

JAKE: Hades 13 tactical mini nukes.

HARTMAN: Ever seen one of these go off?

JAKE: No.

HARTMAN: But that's all about to change.

(HARTMAN glances at his men, then steps back. Camera moves in toward JAKE as they close the case with the nuke in it.)

FADE OUT

(COMMERCIAL SET)

FADE IN.

[EXT. FORT MCCLELLAND ARMY BASE - FOREST -- NIGHT]

(HARTMAN and JAKE walk in the forest.)

HARTMAN: We have a jet waiting for us in the Florida Keys.

JAKE: So we're headed for Afghanistan?

HARTMAN: We've got connections in every town and village and near to Karachi. In less than three days, infiltrate Pakistan through the Paki border and deliver the Hades 13 to the Chaiko Valley. There's a helicopter standing by. Get us out of there before she goes off.

JAKE: ... and takes out the Chaiko Valley.

HARTMAN: Yeah. Every one of those animals -- it's a joy to torture my boy Aubrey to death.

(They reach the road. Vehicle lights turn on and the figure of an officer in uniform stands in the shadows near the driver's door.)

WOLF PACK: Hey, general, welcome to the party.

(The figure steps forward and it's LAWRENCE in GENERAL FREEWALD'S uniform completely with name tag.)

LAWRENCE: As you requested.

HARTMAN: No one searches the General's traspo. Stern, load up the weapon.

CUT TO:

[EXT. FORT MCCLELLAND ARMY BASE - ROAD -- NIGHT]

(STERN loads up the back of the GENERAL'S vehicle. JAKE'S running out of time and he knows it. They finish and they close the back.)

(In the front, the men gather around HARTMAN as he looks at the map.)

HARTMAN: Here's we go. Um ... I say we stay off the main roads. Just get to the ...

(STERN calls out to the front that he's through.)

WOLF PACK: Lock and load!

CUE SOUND: ENHANCED STRENGTH

(JAKE grabs STERN'S head and bangs it against the side of the transport. STERN is knocked unconscious.)

(JAKE takes both guns out and walks to the front of the transport. The most he can hope for it to buy enough time for the others to get there.)

JAKE: Put your weapons down and surrender now!

LAWRENCE: I knew it.

JAKE: That weapon is not leaving this base.

HARTMAN: I disagree. Hall?

(HALL steps forward. JAKE shoots him in the leg. He goes down in pain.)

(JAKE points the gun at HARTMAN.)

HARTMAN: All right. All right. Stand down.

(HARTMAN starts to put his gun on the ground. Faster than anything, LAWRENCE pulls a knife out and throws it at JAKE'S hand pinning his hand to the tree.)

(HARTMAN gets to his feet. The PACK steps forward toward JAKE.)

(JAKE reaches out to pull out the knife, but they hold his arm back.)

HARTMAN: Nice throw. You want to cut his heart out for me?

(HARTMAN holds out the knife. LAWRENCE takes it from him.)

LAWRENCE: It's my pleasure.

(LAWRENCE raises the knife when a shot rings out, hitting LAWRENCE in the back.)

(From the forest, LOU and the other AGENTS step out from the trees.)

AGENTS: Down! Everybody down! AGNETS: Drop your weapons and hit the deck!

(HARTMAN reaches for the gun.)

AGENT: Freeze!

(The AGENT hits HARTMAN across the face with the butt of his rifle.)

AGENTS: On your face! Get down! AGENTS: Put your hands where I can see them!

(LOU walks over to JAKE. JAKE reaches up and pulls the knife out from his hand.)

JAKE: Kyle?

LOU: He's all right, he's alive.

AGENT: Yeah!

LOU: Mannick!

[Note: CC says "Mannick" which also may be "medic".]

LOU: Attend to this man.

JAKE: Lou, thank you.

(The AGENTS help JAKE. LOU walks over to LAWRENCE who is unmoving on the ground. She looks down at FREEWALD'S name tag on his uniform.)

(For a moment, she glances around, then reaches out and removes the tag from the uniform.)

(LOU gets up.)

CUT TO:

[EXT. VARIOUS WASHINGTON D.C. (STOCK) - DAY]

[EXT. / INT. NATIONAL NAVAL MEDICAL CENTER - KYLE'S ROOM -- DAY]

(The nurse adjusts KYLE'S blood and IV bag. She walks away. JAKE sits quietly next to KYLE'S bed.)

(KYLE wakes up and turns to see JAKE sitting there.)

KYLE: Hi.

JAKE: Hey. I'm sorry.

KYLE: Don't be. You did what you had to. It was necessary. We're proud of you.

(JAKE smiles weakly.)

KYLE: I know it was tough.

JAKE: Yeah, but it was tough. But also way too easy.

KYLE: I know. We all got that inside, Jake. It's a matter of how we use it.

(JAKE glances to the door.)

JAKE: Lou told me to, uh ... smuggle in some beer.

KYLE: Love that woman.

(JAKE opens a bottle.)

JAKE: Here. Take it.

KYLE: Thanks.

(KYLE takes the bottle and takes a sip.)

KYLE: You going to be all right?

JAKE: Yeah.

(JAKE pushes his sleeve up to show the wolf-shaped scar on his arm.)

JAKE: I heal fast, I guess.

(As he stares at the scar, it slowly disappears. Camera pulls back on the two. KYLE glances from the scar to the beer bottle. He takes another sip.)

FADE TO BLACK.
