LELA is the eldest Starlight girl and the first foster child taken in by the Bentons after Aja and Shana. Kimber loved her because she was younger (Out of the Past). She plays drums in a band with Ashley, Deirdre, and Becky (The Jem Jam). DELAREE is one of the older Starlight Girls, and therefore looks after the younger girls and along with Lela and Becky, was responsible for the Honour Jar. Speaks with a slight Southern accent. She was drenched when Techrat activiated his jamming device, and the blender in the kitchen went haywire (The Music Awards). ASHLEY is headstrong, stubborn, and had a great deal of attitude, which included stealing money from the Starlight House Honour Jar, and befriending the Misfits (Beginning, Disaster). However, she quickly realises that the only Misfits who actually cares about her is Stormer, and when the two witness a robbery in Las Vegas, help clear Jem's name with the police (Frame Up). Ashley is almost killed when Eric decides to hold her hostage and the Misfits lock her in a trunk which narrowly escapes being destroyed (The Battle of the Bands). Ashley daydreams of becoming a rock star, along with fellow Starlight girls Deirdre, Lela, and Becky (Jem Jam). She also is studying fashion design from Shana, and stows away in a trunk to Italy when Shana is chosen as a contestant in an international fashion design contest (In Stitches). Ashley worked a roadie for Jem and the Holograms while they were on a cross country tour by train. Angry at being ordered to stay and guard the equipment, Ashley left her post, and then was unfairly accused by Rio of sabotaguing the band's equipment (Rock 'n Roll Express). DEIRDRE idolises Jem, and is learning to play guitar. She briefly ran away from home when she felt both Jerrica and Jem didn't care about her, and was accompanied by Ba Nee and Krissie (The Jem Jam). She practices and performs with Ashley, Lela, and Becky (Jem Jam). LAURA HOLLOWAY was temporarily placed at Starlight House by the state following the death of her parents when she was 12. Deeply affected by their death, she is withdrawn and subject to fits of temper and extreme shyness, despite Jerrica and the other Starlight girls initial attempts to draw her out of her shell. She sings and plays acoustic guitar. She is targeted by Bobby, a local high school pusher, who gives her hallucinogens and uppers. When she becomes hooked, she steals from Jerrica's purse in order to purchase more drugs. Jerrica catches her, and Laura goes into therapy for her addiction. Laura and Ashley aid the police in catching Bobby, and Laura writes and performs a song with Jem and the Holograms live in concert (Alone Again). |

KRISSIE is one of the more responsible Starlight girls. She developed a friendship with Dominic Lerner, despite their initial meeting in which she dismissed him as a selfish, spoiled brat (The Jem Jam). She briefly ran away from home, accompanying Deirdre and Ba Nee to try and keep them out of trouble (The Music Awards). She enjoys painting (The Stingers Hit Town). BA NEE was born in Vietnam, and was brought to the United States from the village of An Loc. Her mother told her that her father was an American with red hair (Jem Jam, A Father Should Be). Ba Nee's eyesight began to fail when she was 8 years old, and Jerrica Benton needed to complete the Starbright film in order to raise the $250,000 needed to pay for the operation which would restore the girl's sight (Starbright). When she met drummer Randy James, the girl became fixated on the idea that James was her long-lost father, and although she knows the truth, the two remained close (Jem Jam, A Father Should Be). Ba Nee briefly ran away from home with fellow Starlight girls Deirdre and Krissie, but returned in time for the Haven House benefit (The Music Awards). When Ba Nee became despondent over her missing father, Jerrica asked Riot to use his father's military connections to try and locate him. Thanks to General Lewelyn's help, Ba Nee was reunited with her father, Martin O'Carolan and left Starlight House (A Father Should Be).
