Here's the latest Archivist's Fiction Challenge. Please note that only stories meeting the below guidelines will be archived here on the challenge page.

    Archivist's Eleventh Challenge: What was the end of Endgame like from B'Elanna's point of view?

      1. The minimum length is 1000 words (approximately three pages).
      2. Must be rated PG/PG-13--no naughty bits or language! (use your best judgement)
      3. What was it like giving birth in the midst of Voyager returning to the alpha quadrant. Was Miral born in the Delta Quadtant? En-route? Or was she born in the Alpha Quadrant? What were Tom's first words when he saw his baby daughter? Where will the Lieutenants go next? Go crazy with the missing scene stuff!

There are no deadlines for these stories. Stories are added to each of the previous challenges as people write them. So take your time with it, and have fun!

Please read the submission guidelines first, and clearly mark in the Subject Line "Challenge" so that I know it is in answer to the current challenge.

    Archivist's Second Challenge: What did Owen Paris' letter to Tom say?

      1. Story must take place during or after the episode "Hunters."
      2. The minimum length is 1000 words (approximately three pages).

      4. You get to choose how much, if any, of the letter B'Elanna read while waiting for it to download.

    Archivist's Third Challenge: Just how claustrophobic is Tom, and why?

      1. Story can take place any time before, during or after "One."
      2. The minimum length is 1000 words (approximately three pages).
      3. Must be rated PG/PG-13--no naughty bits or language! (use your best judgement)
      4. Here's the kicker--you are not allowed to lock the 5 year old Tom in a basement or closet. Try and find an original way of addressing this oft-abused character point. Try and be smarter than you think Voyager's writers would be, and see where it takes you.

Walls Julie Archivist's Challenge story. Answering the question "Just why was Tom so claustrophobic about the stasis chamber in the episode "One"? Rated PG.
Dark Surroundings Cheile Archivist's challenge story. Tom explains to B'Elanna why he hates small, dark places. Rated PG.
Alone Lauren Taylor Archivist's Challenge story. A memory from Tom's teenage years results in his worry about the stasis chambers. Rated PG.
Earthquake Judy PT Collective Archivist's Challenge: Tom's claustrophobia. An earthquake in San Francisco in Tom's childhood may be an answer. Some Tom angst and a life threatening situation, however, no ensign was actually killed in the writing of this story. Rated PG-13
After The Fall Dangermom Archivist's Challenge. Tom struggles with the mystery of why he's afraid of stasis. Rated PG.
Decytologenesis Synbou Archive Challenge Story. Set after In The Dark and the episode "One". The time passed in the stasis unit, reminds Tom of the Decytologenesis treatment he underwent in order to cure his leukaemia. Rated PG
    Archivist's Forth Challenge: How did B'Elanna's parents meet?

      1. Story can take place at any time.
      2. The minimum length is 1000 words (approximately three pages).
      3. Must be rated PG/PG-13--no naughty bits or language! (use your best judgement)
      4. If possible, do a little research about Fed/Klingon relations. This research can take the form of watching Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country for information on the Khitomer conferance of 2293--but keep in mind that it has been almost a century since the treaty. For examples of Klingon marriages, hybrids, and courting rituals, check out TOS: Day of the Dove, TNG: The Emmisary, TNG: Reunion, DS9: House of Quark and DS9: Looking For Par'mach In All The Wrong Places.

    Archivist's Fifth Challenge: What role would B'Elanna play in 'The Adventures of Captain Proton'?

    Sounds simple, right? Here are the rules:

      1. Story can take place at any time.
      2. The minimum length is 1000 words (approximately three pages).
      3. Must be rated PG/PG-13--no naughty bits or language! (use your best judgement)
      4. Sidekick or femme fatale? Evil genius or loyal secretary? Equal partner or Lois-Lane girlfriend who can't see Captain Proton behind Tommy's glasses? And how does B'Elanna react to the role Tom offers her, and what ensues?

    Archivist's Sixth Challenge: What did Tom and B'Elanna argue about that lead to Tom giving her roses?

      1. Story can take place at any time before or during the episode "Someone To Watch Over Me".
      2. The minimum length is 1000 words (approximately three pages).
      3. Must be rated PG/PG-13--no naughty bits or language! (use your best judgement)
      4. Think about incorporating Seven's logs into the story.

      2. Must be rated PG/PG-13--no naughty bits or language! (use your best judgement)
      3. Keep in mind that canonically we do not know if her father was in Starfleet or not, nor do we know where B'Elanna lived between her father's leaving Kessik IV and joining the Academy. Only that he left when B'Elanna was five, and that as of Barge of the Dead B'Elanna had not spoken to her mother in ten years.

      3. How did the Captain react when the lieutenants came back engaged? Who threw B'Elanna a bridal shower? Who threw Tom a bachelor party? What was the wedding like? Go nuts!

Except for a few minor differences in how certain events actually played out on screen, it certainly qualifies as that all-important missing scene between Act IV and the tag--Tom and B'Elanna's wedding.     Archivist's Tenth Challenge: Since Pathfinder Project has made intermittant contact with the Alpha Quadrant possible, how in the last year have Tom and B'Elanna dealt with letters to and from their families?

      3. How did B'Elanna re-establish contact with her father, John Torres, after two decades of silance? How did Tom tell Admiral Paris about B'Elanna and their child? Did he ever send the letter he recorded in Thirty Days? What happened to B'Elanna's mother, Miral? There's a TON of great stuff you can explore here, so go crazy with it!
