THE STINGERS are Riot, Rapture, and Minx. They made their American debut at Le Klub Kool, having worked their way up from busking in the streets of Europe to a headlining act with devout fans. Herrica Benton and Eric Raymond competed fiercely to sign them to their respective labels, but in the end Riot signed with Misfit Music when Eric offered him half the company and to rename the label Stinger Sound (The Stingers Hit Town). The band briefly disbanded when Riot disappeared for two months, and Minx and Rapture joined the Misfits (The Day the Music Died). The band is heavily licensed, and Riot personally sits in on marketing meetings, and has input into the Stingers' Saturday morning children's cartoon (Straight from the Heart). |
